It’s that time again! I love going through and reviewing all of my Boxycharm products every month. This month was probably the one I was the most excited for and had the least luck with. Box total value was $119.
And without further ado, each product!
Lorac Pro Matte Lip Color in Dusty Plum ($19)
This lipstick is gorgeous. I love the pale plum purple color! Unfortunately I was disappointed by the rest of the lipstick’s performance. It has no staying power whatsoever. It’s very comfortable for a matte, but it doesn’t stay. It also sits in every crevasse in your lips. This is definitely a lipstick that you’d want to do a lip scrub before using!
Laura Geller Baked Blush-n-Brighten in Tropic Hues ($28)
This is such a cool product! It’s essentially a highlighter blush. The shade is a very pink color with a gold shimmer. When used with a duo fiber brush, it provides a soft golden pink on the cheeks. It stays well and is a beautiful color! It’s not highly pigmented but I actually really like that in the product because it’s a more subtle blush.
Alamar Cosmetics Ojitos Brush set ($18)
I don’t really think I needed more eye brushes but it can’t hurt to have more, right? I was impressed by their palette a few months ago. There’s a flat painter brush, a fluffy blending brush, and a flat tightlining brush. The tightlining brush performs very well for eyeliner, actually, if you’re careful with it. I love that. And the blending brush does wonderfully as well.
Butter London Stroke of Wow Roll On Liner ($19)
I was kind of leery of this product initially. But I swatched it and that swatch stayed put until I scrubbed it off in the shower hours later! And when I wore it, it stayed just as well. I love how dark it is, and it dries down to a nice matte that’s got a slight reflectiveness to it. The little wheel for application definitely takes some getting used to but you can get beautiful fine lines with it that I absolutely love. Overall this ended up being a much cooler product than I expected!
Pretty Vulgar Nightingale Smokey Eyeshadow Palette ($35)
Initial feeling about this palette is that it’s a gorgeously packaged and the colors mostly swatch fairly nicely. This is a palette that’s going to push me out of my comfort zone as far as makeup is concerned. It’s also very inconsistent as far as quality. Some of the shades are beautifully pigmented and easy to use. Some are highly pigmented but patchy. Some barely have any pigment at all. I was kind of disappointed, actually, I really wanted to like this palette but so far my impressions haven’t been great.
So yeah, that’s this month’s box! I did not get the BoxyLuxe box because I didn’t want to pay extra for it this go-round but it’s not out of the question for the future.
