After a long break from buying makeup, I finally started buying new makeup again! It started with one small item that I needed, and then graduated to a couple of items on clearance.
I’m pretty excited about all three of these items. They’re working really well so far.
Without further ado, here are my newest reviews for a couple of LA Girl and Rimmel products!
Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Tender Mauve
Overall, not a bad product but not particularly standout either. The lipstick doesn’t stay on as long as I would have hoped, but it’s not terrible when used with a lip liner.
The color is a mauvy pink shade, which is entirely my style (especially since I’ve got at least three other lipsticks just like it). I like the finish too, not flat matte but not overly glossy.
I definitely liked the product, but it’s nothing I’d recommend over my Colourpop Lux lipsticks or my elf SRSLY Satin Lipsticks. Given that I have so many lipsticks in this tone, it takes a good formula to impress me.
Rimmel may be pulling this product from rotation, it’s hard to find any information about it online and it was on clearance at Walmart.
LA Girl Ultimate Intense Stay Auto Lip Liner in Relentless Red
The reason I grabbed this was that I was looking for a lip liner that would work with my Colourpop Lux Lipstick in Snow White . Given that I’d purchased the cheapest lip liner that matched that I could find at CVS, I wasn’t expecting a lot.
However, this lip liner surpassed every expectation I had. It’s extremely creamy, and just glides on. Just wearing it extended the wear time on an already long wearing lipstick by at least a couple of hours.
It’s extremely thin, so it’s easy to get a very precise line when you’re drawing it on. It’s very pigmented, so be careful.
The best part is how flawless my lipstick looked. No more bleeding, no more smeary mess after a meal. Most of my lipstick stayed on after eating, only needing a tiny touchup.
I will definitely be finding myself another lip liner from this product line!
Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Breathable Foundation in Fair Ivory
I haven’t had the best of luck with Rimmel’s products over the years, but I think I struck gold with this one!
This medium coverage foundation is super breathable and barely feels like foundation. However, it also gives me an absolutely flawless base! The foundation doesn’t rub off badly either.
The sunscreen is functional, though it does affect the smell of the product. I don’t mind the sunscreen smell too badly though. Not only is the foundation super moisturizing, but it blends into the skin well. It truly provides a skinlike finish.
However, the packaging is a little quirky. It’s a screw top with a giant doefoot applicator on the end. Not my favorite for foundation, but not really a deal breaker either.
Overall, this is a really great everyday foundation for anyone with normal to dry skin!
I’m really happy with the way these products ended up working. What do you guys think? Have you tried any of these products before? Let me know in the comments!
