It looks like I went through mostly base products this fall! I have some solid products, some not so much. Most of these products are ones that I’ve been working on for quite a while and have been scraping the bottom of the barrel with.
As you guys probably know, I do try to finish even products I don’t like unless I legitimately cannot make them work. So you guys do miss some of the more epic failures that I find.
Without further ado, here are my empties for Fall of 2020
Nature Inspired Botanics Organic Toning Spritz
Price: $9.99 (on clearance for $4.98)
Repurchase: Definitely not
Details: This toner smells like bug repellant. One of the primary ingredients for this toner is citronella oil, and you can definitely tell. It doesn’t really do much for my skin but the major issue for me with this is just the smell. I can’t stand it. Mario Badescu works better on my skin and I’d rather buy that.
Makeup Revolution Conceal and Hydrate Foundation
Repurchase: Most Likely
Details: If you want a full coverage foundation but your skin is dry, this will be absolutely perfect for you! It’s moisturizing underneath, even if you set it with powder. The packaging looks and feels luxe, and it has a pump. On top of that, they’ve got a ton of shades. I used F3, though it could be argued that it was a little bit light for me.
elf Cosmetics Instant Lift Brow Pencil
Repurchase: As soon as possible
Details: While I don’t use brow pencils often, I use them often enough to make this a worthwhile purchase. This simple brow pencil does the job, it’s not so creamy it’s hard to work with but it does stay on.
elf 16-Hour Camo Concealer
Details: Overall, I really enjoy this concealer. It’s an extremely inexpensive, true full coverage concealer. It blends out nicely (though it does dry fast) and I enjoy using it. However, the hydrating version has plenty of coverage for me and it’s more comfortable so I’ll probably stick with that.
Details: Overall, I like this mascara, but it’s not something I’d purchase again. It doesn’t really provide much better of an effect than the drugstore ones I like, and it doesn’t age well. It’s best within the first month of use. And even though I’m trying to minimize my mascaras, that’s not realistic.
Artistry essentials Pore Refreshing toner
Details: First off, this exact toner doesn’t exist anymore. It’s been reformulated. But the Artistry anti-acne line is a bit to much for my dry skin. I bought it when my skin was acting up while I was on a keto diet, but once my skin calmed back down it was causing bad breakouts.
elf Poreless Putty Primer
Repurchase: Probably Not
Details: This is a nice primer, but getting it out of the package is a bit of a pain. It does help with pores, and the container lasted forever! However, I also have heard good things about the Hard Candy version of this primer and I’d like to try that when I start running out of primer again.
L’Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation
Details: This is my absolute favorite medium coverage foundation! It’s comfortable, blends well, and just looks nice on the skin. It can build up to a fuller coverage as well. Plus there’s sunscreen in it as well. I may keep trying more medium coverage foundations, but this one is the best that I’ve tried right now.
NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray
Details: This was a decent setting spray, but nothing special. I have some favorites, some of which are around the same price point as this one. It’s not bad, just not my favorite.
Bliss Drench & Quench Moisturizer
Repurchase: Already did
Details: I first tried this moisturizer in a mini and it turned out to be absolutely amazing! It’s comfortable and lightweight on the skin, but it’s extremely moisturizing as well.
elf Cosmetics Hydrating Camo Concealer
Repurchase: When I finish my current one
Details: This is probably my favorite full coverage concealer on the market. it looks good with full and medium coverage foundations, even CC creams! I’ve even used it by itself to spot conceal. It just looks nice and is comfortable on the skin.
There we have it, my Fall 2020 Empties! I can’t wait to see what I end up finishing this Winter. What was your favorite empty product from this list? Have you tried any before?
