If your skin tends toward oily, it can be tricky to find a foundation that doesn’t slide off or make your skin look shiny quickly. Usually, the best way to handle that is to find a mattifying primer, foundation, and powder.
These foundations were designed to help mattify your skin and help keep you from getting oily too fast.
Covergirl TruBlend Matte Foundation
For a drugstore option, Covergirl is a great brand! This foundation has some powder built in to prevent oil breakthrough. It comes in over 40 shades too! The longwear formula is easy to get your hands on since you can find it everywhere from Walmart to your local Ulta.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
This cult favorite is a great full coverage foundation for oily skin. It can even work well on more normal skin!
It’s got a fairly good shade range across the board. If you have access to a department store like Belk or Macy’s you can see the shades in person (though you can’t actually get matched right now).
This is a fan favorite for people with significant hyper-pigmentation or acne scarring.
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Foundation
Rhianna’s cult favorite foundation has a huge shade range and a great buildable coverage. It’s a skin-like finish that still doesn’t look oily at the end of the day. It also diffuses pores and smooths out texture!
Maybelline Superstay Foundation
Even with dryer skin, I actually can use this foundation if I use a moisturizing primer. It works well for a range of skin types, and it’s a beautiful budget full coverage foundation. Shade range is good on this product, and they’re continuing to expand it.
BareMinerals Original Mineral Makeup
Mineral makeup is a great option for extremely oily skin to avoid drying you out. BareMinerals Original Mineral Makeup is a stunning, buildable coverage foundation with a half decent shade range. If you have sensitive skin, BareMinerals’ signature product will help prevent breakouts too!
