Boxycharm June 2017 Reviews

I finally got my BoxyCharm for June! I recorded myself opening it up (video below) so for my reactions to the products initially, check that out!

This post is just me going over how I feel about the different products that I got. First of all, this was a great box as far as the cost! Mine was worth $132. Only 2 of the 6 products were worth less than the cost of the box by themselves.

Now without further ado, here’s how I feel about the different products we got!

Alamar Reina Del Caribe Palette ($28)

This was one of the products I was the most excited about. When I swatched them, the pigment was really great on all but two with a super light swatch. But when you start using them with brushes, they’re insanely pigmented. They’re soft and buttery, and they blend out beautifully! This is such a great palette, it would be worth the entire cost of the box by itself.

Battington Monroe Silk Lashes ($28)

I can count on one hand the number of times that I’ve worn false lashes, so I was definitely nervous to try this out. I’m really glad that BoxyCharm posted so many videos on social media about how to put lashes on properly! They look great when on, even when they’re put on slightly incorrectly. Because they’re so subtle and durable, they seem like they’re great learning lashes.

Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream – travel size ($10)

Okay when i heard about this I was super iffy about the product in general. I honestly expected it to smell like coconut (not my favorite scent), but it smells more like a mix of coconut and vanilla. It’s a very warm, yet tropical/summery smell. I love the smell, which shocks me. It’s supposed to firm your skin up, but I’m not really sure if it does or not. But it’s a great moisturizer and helps keep your skin from drying out for a good while.

Luxie 3 Piece Flawless Complexion BRush Set ($42)

I actually have one of these brushes already. But mine is a lot fluffier and a different shape, so I’m pretty excited to have three new brushes! Luxie makes great brushes in my opinion. So far, my favorite is the highlighting brush. It’s much better than the foundation brush for putting on highlighter, and I get a much better shape of my highlight. The Duo Fiber brush is great for loose powder and caked powder both. I don’t use the foundation brush as much since I’m using my beauty sponge for foundation at the moment.

Jonteblu Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Charcoal ($5)

I didn’t have super high expectations for this product the first time through. I swatched it, and it wasn’t as dark as I prefer. It’s honestly a bit of a dud product. I tried using it on my waterline but it had absolutely zero pigment. None. And I was getting to the point where I was pressing so hard that I was almost hurting my eyes. There’s no reason for that to be the case. Not even a little bit. I’m going to be holding on to that product.

Girlactik Lip Paint in Playful ($23)

When I swatched this, it seemed like it was a little bit too brown for me. But, being that I LOVE matte liquid lipsticks, I was still excited to give this a shot. It wears really well, and won’t come off when rubbed. It does smudge some if you don’t let it dry down, but it mostly stays in place. It’s pretty intense as far as that goes!  I definitely recommend that you don’t eat or drink for at least 5 minutes after putting it on. It’s a bit thick when it goes on and it takes a while to dry down, but once it does it’s basically cement.

Overall, this month’s BoxyCharm was great! A really nice selection of products and almost all of them really useful to me. I can’t wait to start finding spoilers for July!
