Ever sat down and looked at some of your makeup and wondered whose good idea it was? Or bad idea? Some of the products that I use on a daily basis are extremely unique among the makeup world. Here are some of the most unique pieces in my collection!
Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and Chocolate Soliel Bronzer
Scented makeup isn’t particularly new anymore, but Too Faced has been doing it the longest. These two items smell very obviously like chocolate, to the degree that they actually smell like you want to eat them! But Too Faced doesn’t stop with chocolate. They have several peach scented palettes, the Christmas ones that smell like gingerbread, and there other seasonal ones such as PB&J, peanut butter and honey, buttered rum, and sugar cookie. I’ve never seen their quality suffer due to the scented nature of the products either, and haven’t had a problem with the scent.
Covergirl Peach Punch Blush
I suppose this could count as cheating since I included the Too Faced scented products, but I believe Covergirl was one of the first (and only) brands to effectively do scented makeup in the drugstore. They tried to dupe the most popular of Too Faced scents: Chocolate and Peach. I didn’t hear great things about the chocolate scent, but the peach is decent. It took a long time for it to calm down though, the scent was overpowering when I first bought it. Nice, but overpowering. It’s overall a nice shimmery, peachy blush!
Storybook Cosmetics Little Briar Rose Palette
An eyeshadow palette shaped like a book. Storybook Cosmetics’ palettes aren’t just stunning display pieces with beautiful artwork and sturdy packaging, they’re fully functional, pigmented palettes! I love the pigment and color story on this palette, it creates beautiful looks. But it’s an absolutely gorgeous display piece! It’s just such unique packaging and the brand takes so much time with every detail. It’s so incredible. I highly recommend looking into the brand for something that grabs your attention. They have unique brush sets, eyeshadow palettes, even a subscription service!
LABIOTTE Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tint in Nebbiolo Red
This is by far one of the most interesting products. It’s a wine shaped tube of lip tint that has wine extracts in it. First off, this isn’t just a lip tint, it’s a stain. 100%. It doesn’t come off for anything. The stain is a soft reddish color, though by the packaging you would definitely expect a purple tone. Solid product but definitely unusual.
Colourpop Supershock Shadows, Highlights, and Blushes
This one is simply unique because of the formula. I’ve never found a formula like their Supershock. The highlights are blinding, the shadows glide on beautifully… It’s insane. It’s a cream to powder type of product that, in my experience, applies best with the fingers or a VERY stiff brush. If you keep the lid on, the formula can last years without drying out. It’s definitely a favorite that I want to continue collecting.
So here are some of the most unique items in my makeup collection! Let me know what you have in your collection in the comments!
