Lipsticks are a fun way to change up your look and express yourself. A different lipstick can completely change a look, or dress up something minimal.
Lipsticks are actually the product that I have the most of (though palettes are slowly catching up). And these are some of my very favorites.
Colourpop Lux Lipstick in Lucky Strike
Colourpop’s Lux lipstick formula is my second favorite bullet formula that I’ve tried. It’s a smooth mostly matte lipstick with fairly decent wear time. The packaging on these is a really nice rose gold metal with stars etched on the tube. On top of that, the pigment in these lipsticks is incredible.
Lucky Strike is a soft, rosy pink. It’s a bright, cool color, but not so bright it looks strange. It’s a great color for spring and summer.
Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink in Voyager
If you’re looking for long wear, this lipstick is exactly what you need. You practically have to scrape this lipstick off at night. Even greasy foods are no match for this formula.
This color is actually my replacement for my Smashbox liquid lip in Miss Conduct. This is a deep maroon shade that’s absolutely perfect for fall and winter.
elf Cosmetics SRSLY Satin Lipstick in Creme
This new formula from elf is my absolute favorite lipstick formula right now. It’s long wearing, comfortable, and extremely cheap. The packaging is clear plastic, that’s somewhat chic even though it’s cheap too. There’s lots of pigment in these shades, they’re completely opaque.
Creme is a true nude for very pale, neutral to cool skin tones. I have multiple colors in this formula, this just happens to be my favorite and most used.
Colourpop Lux Lipstick in Snow White
As mentioned before, this is my second favorite formula. I’ll add that it doesn’t feather even without a lip liner. However, a lip liner will improve the already incredible wear time of this shade by quite a bit. The lip liner I recommend with this color is LA Girl’s Ultimate Intense Stay Auto Lip Liner in Relentless Red.
The shade Snow White is a beautiful, classic blue red. It’s the kind of red that flatters everyone, and makes your teeth look a little bit whiter.
Wet N Wild Megalast High Shine in Bellini Overflow
If you want your lipstick to have lots of shine and be incredibly comfortable, this is a great option. The wear time isn’t great, but with as shiny as the formula is that’s not unexpected. The color is also completely opaque. This lipstick is just under $2 as well, so it’s a great deal.
Bellini Overflow is a fun, neon coral shade. It’s flattering on many different skin tones and is a great shade for spring, summer, and fall in particular!
MAC Lipstick in Velvet Teddy
MAC’s lipstick formula is classic for a reason. It’s extremely pigmented, highly comfortable, and looks great without feathering. I only have a mini of this lipstick, but I’ve had it for almost two years and there’s still plenty.
Velvet Teddy dances somewhere in between a brown, a nude, and a pink. It looks great with almost any look, giving it an unexpected elegance.
Trestique Prime and Color Lip Glaze in Tea Rose
My final favorite is a sheer lipstick from Trestique. This lipstick comes with a lip balm on one end to prep, and then the comfortable, semi-opaque color on the other. The shape of the product is a little bit strange, it’s very blocky. But it does work well to apply.
Tea Rose is a dark pink that borders on red violet. It can be built up or sheered out as you wish for your makeup look. It’s a great fall and winter color!
There we have it: some of my absolute favorite lipsticks. What are yours?
