Recently, I’ve gotten to try quite a few great products that I’d just term “shower products.” Specifically, body washes and shampoo/conditioner. I’ve had enough recently that it definitely justified a full blog post.
One thing to note is that one of my primary markers for preference in most of these shower type products is scent. Obviously it has to do its job, but I don’t have extremely high standards for any of these products.
Dove Go Fresh Blue Fig and Orange Blossom Body Wash
I’m really pleased with this body wash. It doesn’t dry out my skin, and suds up well. It smells amazing too, a balance of fruity and floral. If strong scents and fragrances are problematic for you, I’d be careful though. I always feel clean, with no weird films where the soap was. I find it performs best with a loofa.
method beauty deep detox Cucumber Body Wash
Functionality wise, this works fine. My skin doesn’t get dry, everything suds up well, and it doesn’t leave a film. The smell isn’t super strong, so even sensitive skin should be okay with it. However, this smells like straight cucumber. If you don’t like the smell of cucumber, this will not be up your alley.
OGX Pink Sea Salt and Rose Water Scrub
Weirdly enough, I ended up loving this. I like using body scrubs once a week or so, and this one is gentle enough to use regularly but good at getting dead skin. The salt in the scrub isn’t so prominent that it will severely burn in a cut. It functions like a standard body wash, just with extra exfoliation.
It does smell like pink lemonade though, so if you don’t think that’s your preference, I’d avoid this.
Love Beauty and Planet Coconut Milk and White Jasmine Shampoo
The main reason I got this product was for the smell. I absolutely love the smell of Jasmine, and this smells like actual jasmine flowers. It is supposed to promote curl definition, which I think it somewhat does. I have vaguely wavy hair, and the waves definitely look more defined.
Interestingly, this shampoo is sulfate free, so it doesn’t get as sudsy as others might. I tend to use a lot to get through my hair, but you likely don’t need as much as I use. If it was sudsier I’d like it better, but that’s not a deal breaker for me.
Love Beauty and Planet Coconut Milk and White Jasmine Conditioner
Again, I got this product for the beautiful jasmine flower scent. I need very little of this silicone-free conditioner to moisturize my hair. While this works well on my oilier scalp, it would work really well on drier hair. My hair stays mostly detangled, but doesn’t feel slick and oily after conditioning.
What do you think? Have you ever tried any of these products? Let me know in the comments!
