New Makeup Reviews December 2020

Makeup reviews are my favorite posts to write! I love going through all of the new products that I got a chance to try and letting you know what I think.

Not only did I buy some new makeup this month, a friend of mine gave me some that she wasn’t using anymore that I hadn’t tried yet. Let’s get into it!

Milani Baked Blush in Bella Bellini

This is an absolutely beautiful somewhat peachy pink blush with a gold sheen. I believe it’s a dupe for my favorite Laura Geller Baked Blush n Brighten in Tropic Hues! If not by shade, then by formula.

Since the formula is baked, this blush applies best with a duofiber brush. That also makes it really easy to apply for a beginner since it takes time to build up on the skin.

This shade is fairly light, so it might not work as well for someone with darker skin tones, but this formula comes in many different shades that flatter different skin tones and undertones!

Artistry Studio Hydro-Prime Primer

This primer is actually fantastic! It’s extremely moisturizing, yet it actually holds my foundation in place.

It does have a smell, something slightly sweet but mostly fresh, so I don’t mind it at all. You don’t need much of it either, so it will last a really long time.

Becca Cosmetics Ultimate Coverage 24-hour Foundation

If you want coverage, this is definitely the foundation for you! It’s very full coverage, though it looks nice on the skin thanks to a slightly luminous finish.

A little goes a long way with this foundation, it’s definitely best to start with a smaller amount and then add more as you need it.

The shade range is pretty nice too, which is always a good thing! The only issue I have with this foundation is that the pump is slightly broken, but I think I just got a defective pump on mine.

Overall, it’s a solid foundation, I just wouldn’t pay $44 for it.

Artistry Studio Light Up Matte Lipstick in Berry Red

Overall, this is a nice lipstick. As with the light up lip gloss, this product has a small mirror on the side and a couple of small lights in the top of the applicator.

Berry red is a more red than plum shade, which translates well in a matte liquid lipstick formula. It stays on fairly well, and has absolutely no stickiness whatsoever.

The only issue I have is that it’s not food proof. It’s drink proof, but it does come off when you eat. And it can bleed if you’ve eaten something greasy. For the moment, I don’t have a lip liner for it, but I’m searching for one to work with it.

Wet N Wild To Reflect Shimmer Palette in Boozy Brunch

While this isn’t awful, it was definitely confusing as to what it is. This is a highlighter, a baked one to be specific.

It definitely has Wet N Wild’s signature glow for highlighters, but it’s significantly more glittery than I prefer in a highlight. This shade in particular is a bit too dark for me as well.

Overall, not a terrible product, but not the best.

Artistry Studio Liquid Pen Eyeliner in Silk Sapphire

This is the very first colored eyeliner I’ve ever tried and I was pleasantly surprised! Silk Sapphire is a very vivid, pigmented blue liner.

This formula has a great applicator, allowing a very fine line if I need it. The liner dries down fairly quickly, and has a matte finish.

essence Silky Touch Blush in Babydoll

essence is always surprising me! This blush formula looks very natural on the skin. It doesn’t have a lot of true shimmer, but it’s not perfectly matte either.

For the price, this is a solid blush that stays on the skin well. The shade Babydoll is a true pink, leaning slightly cool. It’s fairly pigmented and blends easily as well.

Wet N Wild Gel Lip Liner in Plum Together

No. Just no. The formula on this was awful. The liner actually made my lipstick come off faster and bleed more.

The color is nice, though not what I expected. And it did go on my lips well. However, it just doesn’t work for me formula wise.

Have you tried in any of these products? What did you think?
