New Makeup Reviews June 2021

I haven’t gotten much new makeup recently, but a few new lip products made their way to me over the past couple weeks. There were a few solid products here for sure, plus a very reasonably priced brow product!

Blossom Roll On Lip Gloss

These make me feel very nostalgic. They’re the early 2000’s style rollerball applicators for a basic clear gloss. Overall, the product is semi decent, though the gloss and the rollerball feel very gritty when on. Other than that, the gloss is moisturizing without being sticky and stays on the lips super well. I didn’t find that my hair got stuck in it badly.

For all of that, the flowers floating in the product are beautiful. It’s such a cool concept and I’m so excited that I got to try it. The flavors are more in the nature of strong smells than a true “flavor.” I have a pack of minis that contains strawberry, mango, and watermelon. Mango is my favorite, but they’re all fairly nice.

Blossom Sheer Hydrating Crystal Lip Balm

As a lip balm, I really like this. It’s super hydrating and comfortable while not being sticky. It’s a very thin formula, which I prefer in a lip balm, but does plenty of good for your lips. It doesn’t seem to have any smell, which could be good for folks who prefer unscented products. The lip balm itself is a glass-like clear balm with a purple flower suspended in it.

One thing was that it was supposed to change colors on my lips and it really didn’t. It just acted like a clear balm/gloss for me. I don’t mind that, but it does say color changing on the packaging, so that’s probably good to know.

Wet N Wild Browsessive Brow Shaping Gel

This product surprised me. I wasn’t really expecting much with it being less than $3. However, it does a great job holding my brow hairs in place and the color is nicely neutral. I have the darker brown shade, and it’s neither too warm nor too cool. It holds all day too, but comes off fairly easily with a makeup wipe when I’m ready for bed. The brush is small, and it actually works really well on my brows. It’s perfect for my everyday makeup look!

Maybelline Lifter Gloss in Silk

I’ve seen so much about this gloss, that even though I’m the exact opposite of a gloss person I had to buy it. I was going to get the clear one, but Silk was the only one in stock. I’m actually really grateful – this color is gorgeous! It’s a soft, your lips but better type pink shade. The color is very opaque though, so wear a lip liner.

The gloss isn’t spectacularly sticky, though it does hydrate a lot. It’s very smooth and doesn’t pill up. It doesn’t last very long of course, as glosses don’t, but the color fades and leaves behind a comfortable moisture on the lips that lasts for hours!

I’ve heard this is a dupe for the Fenty Gloss Bombs, but I don’t have a sure answer for that.

That’s it for this haul! What did you think? Have you tried any of these products before? Let me know in the comments!
