Personal style takes a lot of time to figure out and build. It’s a great way to express yourself and show off your favorite physical assets. However, if you’re feeling blah about a particular outfit, it can be tricky to figure out what you can do to enhance the look!
Here are some foolproof ways to elevate your outfit!
The French Tuck
Whether or not you’ve had a chance to enjoy the Netflix original, Queer Eye (so wholesome, so sweet, 10/10 would recommend), Tan France’s signature “French Tuck” can elevate your outfit.
Basically, the French Tuck is a formal term for a seemingly effortless half tuck of your shirt into your jeans, pants, or skirt. Here’s a more in depth how to!
Picking a single statement item can enhance your look without overdoing the whole thing. As far as jewelry, a really large or long necklace or some eye catching earrings are a good option. If you’re more feeling a different type of statement item, try a brightly patterned scarf or some fun metallic shoes.
Make Sure You’re Comfortable and Confident
The quickest way to distract from a gorgeous outfit is being obviously uncomfortable in it. Make sure you get commonly worn pieces tailored to fit you so you look and feel your best. Also invest in a steamer to ensure that you’re not wrinkly and rumpled.
Cuff Your Jeans
Even if all you’re wearing is a pair of jeans and a tee shirt, a quick cuff on your jeans can change the whole vibe of the outfit. It’s great for both bootcut and skinny styles. It looks great with ankle boots or flats in particular!
Now this is a little bit trickier if it’s warm/hot outside, but it can still be done. Basically you want to add coordinating colors and patterns to your outfit with additional pieces. Some great layering pieces are camis, button up tops, tank tops, dresses, denim jackets, and even belts!
For example, layer a long sleeved shirt under your favorite summer dress to turn it into a winter staple. A tank top or tee shirt with a flannel shirt worn open over it is a classic fall look too.
