Subscription Box Review [Updated]

If you remember, one of the first things I wrote on this blog was an overview of my favorite subscription boxes. Since then, I’ve gotten the chance to see more BoxyCharm boxes and try a couple more subscriptions as well!

BoxyCharm

Boxycharm is still worth the money, even though they’re increasing the price. They have increased the number of items in the box, and they have more well known brands in the box as well. They’ve also added customization and two more levels of membership: premium and luxe. Premium is $35 a month with more products. Luxe is an additional $30 on top of the $25 of your Boxycharm (total $55) that you get every quarter with around 10 products.

Overall, it’s a solid box. I do think it’s getting complicated, but they’re adding more products and it’s still a great value. Especially if you’re trying to build your makeup collection.

MorpheMe Live Glam Box

This one is only worth the money if you’re looking to try a bunch of new brushes. If you’ve got a good collection of brushes, this one may not be your cup of tea. I will say I’ve found a couple of amazing brushes that I use regularly. On the other hand, I have brushes that immediately went into my give away box because I have ones just like it. It just depends on what your preference and needs are. It is fairly reasonable in price though so it’s worth a shot. Particularly if you can find a discount code.

FabFitFun

This is, hands down, my favorite subscription box. There’s such an amazing array of products for such great prices that it’s hard to think that there could be a better deal! You have a $50 that has at least $200 worth of product. I’ve gotten such great products from this, including an Ouai Leave In Conditioner, Tula Face Wash, an eye product from Thrive Causemetics, an absolutely stunning scarf, and more. Many of the products are/were in my everyday routines and rotations too.

Yes Oh Yas

This is a great makeup subscription for people who want full sized products but want more exposure to different brands. It’s very similar to Boxycharm but less expensive. And fewer products. I actually prefer it over Boxy! I’ve gotten a bunch of really nice products from there, skincare and makeup both.

Final Thoughts

If you can afford it, I’d definitely recommend going FabFitFun, but if not, or if you just want makeup, then try Yes Oh Yas! I still recommend Ipsy or Birchbox(mentioned in the previous post) if you want to try samples, but both have increased prices recently and I’m not sure if they’re still worth the money.
