Ulta Haul June 2019 Sample Pack

In my last Ulta Haul, I received a MASSIVE sample pack. There were too many things to try to do it all in one blog post, so I decided to hold off and make a separate post. As you can see, there were quite a few samples with my order!

I’m not going to review the La Roche Posay sunscreen because I’m giving it to my mom for her trip to Disney World this month. There were also two men’s colognes in the package (Polo Ralph Lauren Blue and Invictus Paco Rabanne) which I’m not going to review beyond saying that they smelled great on my husband.

Tarte Foundcealer in Shade Fair Neutral

This foundation is nice, but not my absolute holy grail. There wasn’t enough to actually use as a foundation, so I had to use it as a concealer. The coverage isn’t nearly enough to be both. A medium coverage at best. It would probably be a nice foundation, but not one for flawless, high coverage looks. I really like that it has SPF, and the shade was perfect for me. Honestly, the only reason this doesn’t get a better review from me is that while it’s good, it’s not $40/bottle good in my opinion.

Bosley Revive Shampoo and Conditioner

No. Just no. This smells like Vicks VapoRub. I got a little bit of the shampoo in my eyes and it burned so badly. I wasn’t a fan at all. It didn’t even really feel cooling on my scalp, which would have been nice with the Vicks smell. The conditioner did little-nothing to make my hair silky and soft, and the shampoo didn’t seem to do much either.

Mad Hippie Vitamin A Serum

Gentle and effective serum. It’s got a thick, milky texture, but once you get it rubbed in, it sinks into your skin directly. I don’t have much/any scarring or visible signs of aging at this point, so I can’t speak to its effectiveness there, but my skin definitely felt great after use. It played well with my moisturizer and primers as well!

Garnier 3-in-1 Moisturizer with Rose Water

So far the only thing I have against this product is that it’s misleading. When I saw the packaging, I assumed that it was a mask only. Really, it’s a moisturizer and a mask! It definitely is nice though. I used it overnight, and it really rejuvenated my skin. It would be a great night cream since it’s super thick and moisturizing, but for me personally it’s just too much for daytime. The scent isn’t too bad, fairly minimal.

Urban Skin Rx Pumpkin Pore Detox Mask

Super, super, super weird. First of all, it smells like you just opened up a can of raw pumpkin. Second of all, it warms on your face? I started feeling smothered before I took it off. The scrub portion of the mask is absolutely fantastic. It really cleaned my face and cleaned out my pores. It definitely did a decent job, but not worth the price point.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Rich Cream

I wasn’t sure how this was going to go for a summer moisturizer since it’s so thick, but it just melts into the skin and feels great! It definitely makes my skin feel very hydrated, but somehow doesn’t feel greasy or clog my pores despite me being normal-dry rather than dry-very dry skin type. It’s absolutely amazing, I just can’t justify the price of it.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer

Overall, not a bad primer. It’s a clear gel silicone primer that goes on very smoothly. My foundation did look really nice, and it also stayed on really well. My skin looked great overall, which was super nice. I have dry skin and visible pores, and neither of those issues were obvious with this primer. The only thing it didn’t fix was my clogged pores on my nose, which wasn’t the primer’s fault for sure.

No 7 Protect and Perfect Intense Serum

This is my new favorite serum and I definitely want to try and get some of this when I run out. It’s a thicker serum, but it moisturizes my face and also keeps my skin smooth. It absorbs very quickly as well. It’s definitely a bit on the expensive side for a ‘drugstore brand’ but it will be worthwhile for something that can keep my skin looking younger longer.

Have you tried any of these products before? What do you think of them? Let me know in the comments.
